12 Truths

A Documentary. A Book. A Movement.

There comes a moment when hiding no longer serves your healing.

12 Truths was created for the people who have survived the unimaginable, carried stories in silence, and are finally ready to tell the truth—not for sympathy, but so someone else knows they can make it through too.

This is more than a documentary.

This is more than a book.

This is proof that healing begins when someone has the courage to say, "Me too."

Why 12 Truths?

Every person has a story.

Some stories are celebrated.

Others are buried beneath shame, fear, disappointment, grief, trauma, or regret.

But the stories we hide are often the very stories someone else needs to hear.

12 Truths brings together twelve individuals willing to share the chapters that changed their lives, not because they have all the answers, but because they know what it feels like to survive.

Created by Dr. Mikkita L. Moore

For years I've stood on stages sharing pieces of my story.

I've watched complete strangers cry because they finally realized they weren't alone.

I've learned that transparency creates permission.

Permission to heal.

Permission to forgive.

Permission to grow.

Permission to begin again.

That's why I created 12 Truths.

Not to relive pain.

But to create hope.

Starting Over Doesn't Mean Starting Fresh

Starting Over Doesn't Mean Starting Fresh

Love can be beautiful, but it cannot heal wounds we refuse to face. This truth challenges the belief that another person can fix what only healing can restore.

I Was Surrounded and Still Felt Alone

Everything I Learned Wasn't Mine to Keep

You can be in a crowded room, surrounded by family, friends, and coworkers, yet still feel unseen. This truth speaks to loneliness that often hides behind a smile.

Everything I Learned Wasn't Mine to Keep

Starting Over Doesn't Mean Starting Fresh

Everything I Learned Wasn't Mine to Keep

Some beliefs are inherited. Some habits are learned. Some cycles are passed from one generation to the next. This truth explores the courage to question what we've always known and choose a different path.

What Parenting Looks Like When It's Just Me

I Stopped Keeping the Peace and Started Protecting Mine

What Parenting Looks Like When It's Just Me

Parenting alone comes with sacrifices, victories, heartbreak, and resilience. This truth honors the strength required to keep showing up, even when no one sees the weight being carried.

The Marriage Ended. My Fatherhood Didn't

I Stopped Keeping the Peace and Started Protecting Mine

What Parenting Looks Like When It's Just Me

I Stopped Keeping the Peace and Started Protecting Mine

We Grew Apart... And Nobody Did Anything Wrong

I Can Celebrate and Still Grieve

I Made It Through... But I Didn't Make It Through Unchanged

Success Cost Me More Than I Expected

Joy and grief can exist in the same moment. This truth acknowledges that healing doesn't erase loss, and celebrating life doesn't mean forgetting what has been lost.

I Made It Through... But I Didn't Make It Through Unchanged

Success Cost Me More Than I Expected

Achievement often comes with sacrifices that few people see. This truth explores the emotional, personal, and relational cost that can accompany success.

I Made It Through... But I Didn't Make It Through Unchanged

I Made It Through... But I Didn't Make It Through Unchanged

I Made It Through... But I Didn't Make It Through Unchanged

Survival changes us. While healing brings hope, it also leaves wisdom, strength, and a new perspective. This final truth reminds us that making it through something doesn't mean we remain the same person on the other side.

Which Truth Speaks to You?

You may see yourself in one.

You may see yourself in several.

No matter where your journey begins, remember this:

Your story matters.

And sometimes, the truth you've been afraid to tell is the very truth someone else has been waiting to hear.
